If you’re looking for a family day out in the Scottish Borders, a chance to meet animals, enjoy the countryside, and experience real farm life, we’d love to welcome you to Jacksons at Jedburgh.
Meet the family behind Jacksons at Jedburgh
Hi, I’m Jasmine and I’m married to Fenwick, the farmer here at Kersheugh and here’s a little post to Meet the family behind Jacksons at Jedburgh! Together, alongside raising our six children, we farm 436 acres of beautiful Scottish Borders countryside. From April to October each year, we open our gates to visitors through our much-loved farm experience attraction near Jedburgh.
A Family Life Built Around the Land
Life on the farm is busy, muddy, joyful, and never dull. As a family, we love spending time together, cooking big Sunday roasts, baking at home, and exploring the countryside around us. In the summer, you’ll often find us camping under the stars not far from the house.
Truthfully, we feel lucky to have created a life we don’t need a holiday from. A life where Mondays are just another good day. Farm life has its challenges, of course, but it also teaches you to appreciate the little things – fresh air, changing seasons, animals being born, and the beauty of nature all around you.
That’s something we love sharing with every visitor who comes to see us.
Meet the Animals at Jacksons at Jedburgh
Our farm is home to a variety of animals, including cows, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and highland cows. Surrounding the farm are thriving deciduos woodlands that are home to an abundance of Scottish wildlife. We love sharing our farm and it’s inhabitants – both livestock and wildlife, with visitors. Providing a glimpse into our way of life as a farming family. Our farm experience attraction is the perfect way to get up close and personal with our animals and to learn more about farming in the Scottish Borders.
One of the biggest highlights for many visitors is seeing our famous Highland cows in the Scottish Borders, with their shaggy coats, impressive horns, and gentle personalities.
Beyond the farm animals, we’re also surrounded by thriving woodland filled with local wildlife, so there is always something to spot.
A Real Working Farm Experience Near Jedburgh
When you visit Jacksons at Jedburgh, you’re not visiting a theme park or petting zoo. You’re stepping onto a real working family farm.
We want guests to enjoy a genuine glimpse into farming life in the Scottish Borders — the daily routines, the animals, the changing seasons, and the joy that comes from being outdoors.
Whether you’re bottle-feeding lambs in spring, meeting Highland cows in summer, or simply enjoying the fresh Borders air, every visit feels a little different.
The Children Behind the Scenes
Last but certainly not least, our children! An integral part of our team, they make us laugh, cry, rejoice and despair. They’re a little like Scottish weather, you never know what you’re getting next and you can have all types of ‘weather’ inside an hour.
Most of the kids love to help out around the farm and those who are less keen on doing the farm jobs are still motivated to tag along because of the wages they can earn! From collecting eggs to bottle-feeding lambs, checking on newborn litters of piglets and standing in gateways to stop sheep going the wrong way, the kids are never far from the action.
Visitors often say this family atmosphere is what makes Jacksons feel so special.
