Are highland cows used for meat?

The beef of Highland Cows is prized for its quality, flavor, and nutritional benefits. Highland cattle are slow-growing and naturally reared, which enhances the quality of their meat. Here are a few reasons why Highland beef is highly sought after:

  • Lean and Healthy: Due to their ability to stay warm with their thick coats rather than relying on body fat, Highland cattle produce meat that is naturally lean yet tender.

  • Rich Flavor: Highland beef is known for its distinctive, slightly sweet, and rich flavor due to the cattle’s natural grazing diet.

  • High in Omega-3 and Protein: Compared to many other beef breeds, Highland beef contains higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and protein while being lower in cholesterol.
