Just a few minutes from Jedburgh, our family farm opens its gates each year to give visitors a genuine glimpse into life on a working farm in the Scottish Borders.
At Jacksons at Jedburgh, you’ll find much more than just a farm visit. From feeding animals and meeting Highland cows to wandering peaceful farm walks and enjoying seasonal experiences throughout the year, it’s a relaxed outdoor day out designed for families to properly slow down and enjoy time together.
Whether you visit during lambing season in spring, sunny summer days on the farm, or enjoying the beauty of autumn, there’s always something different to experience.

A Real Family Farm in the Scottish Borders
Fenwick and Jasmine Jackson run the family beef and sheep farm alongside raising their seven children — so family life is very much at the heart of everything here.
Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from April to October (plus additional holiday opening), the farm gives visitors the chance to experience authentic farm life in a way that feels welcoming, down-to-earth, and unhurried.
Meet the Animals
With pigs, chickens, sheep, Highland cows and goats to get up close to and feed you’re not short of entertainment during your visit.
One of the biggest highlights for visitors is getting up close to the animals.
Depending on the season, you may meet:
- Highland cows
- Sheep and lambs

- Pigs
- Chickens and ducks
- Farm cattle
The Highland cows are always a favourite, with their shaggy coats, huge horns, and surprisingly gentle personalities.
As authentic a farm experience as you can get without having to do a full days graft.
Space to Explore, Play & Slow Down
One thing families often comment on is how peaceful the farm feels.
There’s plenty of space for children to run, explore, and play freely – without the noise and rush of bigger attractions.
Our play area is intentionally simple and outdoors-focused, with sand play, ride-on vehicles, tractor tyres to climb through, and even a tree swing. We didn’t want to create a shiny playpark – we wanted to capture a bit of that old-fashioned childhood magic instead.
And honestly… we’ve seen children spend longer playing on the old tractor in the bottom field than they do in a full soft play centre.
We’ve also added benches around the farm walks and fields, giving parents and grandparents the chance to sit down with a coffee, take in the views, and simply enjoy being outdoors.
